On a cold winter afternoon, Eldredge's Emergency Response Coordinator received an urgent call from the Pennsylvania State Police. An overturned tank truck had spilled 9,000 gallons of gasoline into a primary wetland and ancillary pond adjacent to Longwood Gardens. When the fire in the wetland was brought under control, Eldredge's field service crews, working through the night in zero degree weather, provided "first responder" service by removing residual product from the tanker and installing absorbent and permanent booms downstream of the initial spill. Eldredge's consultants, in conjunction with field service, installed an in-ground gas-water seperator to capture the remaining product. Final remediation was completed utilizing carbon filtration and natural bio-remediation.
